When I came to Kamloops, I was excited to start my new school life here. My homestay family welcomed me warmly and now I am happy to have met them and to be a part of their family. I love my host mother’s cooking. She always makes diverse types of foods for dinner, and I like to help making dinner. My host brother does not talk much with me, and I was worried if I made him feel uncomfortable at home. However, He was getting used to living with us, so he started to talk to me a little during dinner time. I talked about numerous things with my homestay family, for example, differences of cultures between Canada and Japan, school life at TRU and my family. I had such a wonderful time with them. Therefore, I am depressed to say goodbye to them.
In addition, I learned various things in classes at TRU. All teachers are kind and they taught me a great deal of useful skills of English. It was great opportunity to speak my thoughts and share opinions with others in classes, because I gained confidence in myself to express what I think even if I was wrong. I definitely improved my English skills and myself through this study abroad program. I would like to thank to teachers, my homestay family and all of classmates who supported me.
